One of our readers, Katie Faust from Georgia, sent over the following:
“Hi!
Having lived in L.A. for a year and experiencing that horrendous traffic, I definitely appreciate a site like yours promoting cycling. Back on the east coast I ended up designing a mock campaign for a college course using your logo and thought I'd submit it to you.
It's a positive campaign that tries to bring the luxurious qualities and the amenities of car ownership into the world of cycling. Hope you like it!”
What can we say; we give her a big FAT A+ as well as extra credit for such slick work.
She hits the nail on the head in all departments, composition, lighting, campaign slogan--and what great ad copy.
Way to go Katie--you just made the grade, and got yerself a nifty C.I.C.L.E. sticker pack!

Yeah, aren’t these fantastic! I’ve always wanted to riff off an auto ad, but then katie sent these in—and I know that I couldn’t have done half-as-good a job.Shay (Email) (URL) - March 18 '08 - 09:51
Wow! The “studio lighting” look really makes it. Good job!Alice (Email) - March 18 '08 - 10:50
I love the “features” of bicycles in these “ads”. I was using my state of the art cup holder just this morning on my way to work.lesterlute (Email) (URL) - March 18 '08 - 19:36
Great work Katie. Now if only Giant, Specialized and TREK would pay attention and use some of this inspiration we might see some serious change of marketing direction for bikes.Thom J. (Email) - March 19 '08 - 09:05
