A forwarded email from the LA Tri Club Dispatch reports that a cyclist was attacked on the Ballona Creek Bike Path on the afternoon of Sunday, March 23rd.

We have not confirmed the report, but do advise that cyclists traveling the Ballona Creek Bike Path be on alert.

Apparently, a cyclist was heading west on the Ballona Creek Bike Path near either the Sepulveda or Sawtelle Blvd. overpass, and was mugged by a group of teenagers. The email states that the cyclist, though physically attacked, was not injured. An iPod was stolen but the bike was left behind and the cyclist was able to ride home.
