Nov 26 '05 - 241 W, 2 I - Vote Good + 14 :: Bad - 10 Critical Mass London: November Report
Published November 25, 2005 by IndyMedia UK
1st report by Rob Corlett
2nd report by Doug
A smaller turn-out than last time allowed the mass to flow far
more easily. Parliament square was circled just once, the police
presence was around 20 strong plus a van. A infamous Hummer was blocked
from moving for a while, raising spirits on a cold night. Unlike
October, where thousands of cyclists proved to be a rather large (yet
still great) mess, buses were let through on occasion and any sit-downs
were generally for less than a couple of minutes. A one minute
"bikes-raised" silence was also held over the recent death of a cyclist
in London.

Bikes high.
Harriet died after a Brewsters wast management truck ran over her at
the junction of Clerkenwell Road and St John Street in Finsbury. There
have been at least three collisions involving cyclists at that junction
in the last month.

I’ve had several accidents with veheculs always illegally manouvring cars or lorrys. I don’t know how to stop them, but the moveing target HGV campaign is a start. I’m sad to have heard now of the death of the cyclist Harriet Troy, Hopefully sometime soon people will stop blaming cyclists for accidents, and take this stuff seriously. please take note bloody motorists.
