As part of the international day of action against the G8, there was a bike-demo in Amsterdam.
In Amsterdam, a group of 100 people held a critical mass (bicicle) demo
through the city on july 14. Through a soundsystem information was
spread about different places where the demo stopped (such as the
office of Aeroflot, multinationals, the French consulate, etc.). The
bicicle-demo took a few of the busiest 'highways' in town and ended at
the building of Shell Research to show solidarity with activists in
Rosport (Mayo, Ireland) resisting a pipeline-project from Shell
Te aim of the demo was to join the international day of action against
the G8, and show solidarity with activists in Russia. In the morning a
small action had been held at the Russian Embassy in The Hague, to
point at the comming action and the demands.
