Enjoy a two-wheeled tour of Culver City, presented by the Metro Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program. The Tweed Ride is unique to Southern California as we step back in time and ride through the Heart of Screenland, where they’ve filmed classic movies like Citizen Kane, The Wizard of Oz, and Tron!
Beginning at the Culver City Station, join C.I.C.L.E. as we ride to the Heart of Screenland stopping to take pictures at the Hull Building (memorialized in Tron), the Bilbo Baggins house and the Helms Bakery District. You can hop back on the metro at Culver City or continue for a short jaunt up to the Baldwin Hills overlook. Afterwards we’ll visit Culver Studios, formerly Desilu Studios, where they filmed Citizen Kane and The Wizard of Oz. The last stop will be at City Tavern before heading back to the Expo Line station.
Riders are encouraged to wear vintage or tweed-style clothing. For inspiration, check out LA Weekly’s coverage of last year’s Tweed Ride.
