Taste of Temple Street: Filipino Bites by Bike Presented by Metro

It’s the food that’s trending now in Los Angeles—food inspired from the Philippines. Join C.I.C.L.E. as we partner with Public Matters  and Pilipino Workers’ Center for Taste of Temple Street: Filipino Bites by Bike presented by Metro.

We’ll bike to various restaurants on Temple and sample their delicious foods. If you’ve never had Filipino food, this is a perfect time and opportunity to enjoy it. You don’t want to miss this first of its kind event!

This is a 3-mile beginner ride featuring eateries and retailers in Historic Filipinotown. The tentative schedule includes:

  • 6:00pm – Meet-up @ ECHO PARK LAKE, Glendale at Santa Ynez
  • 6:30pm – Start of Bike Ride, depart Echo Park Lake
  • 6:30–6:45pm – Ride from ECHO PARK LAKE to TRIBAL CAFÉ
  • 6:45-7:05pm – Stop 1: TRIBAL CAFÉ //1651 W Temple St @ Belmont
  • 7:05-7:15pm – Ride from TRIBAL CAFÉ to TEMPLE SEAFOOD/DOLLAR HITS
  • 7:15-7:40pm – Stop 2: TEMPLE SEAFOOD/DOLLAR HITS // 2422 W Temple St @ Carondelet
  • 7:40-8:00pm – Ride from TEMPLE SEAFOOD/DOLLAR HITS to PARK’S FINEST BBQ
  • 8:00-8:20pm – Stop 3: PARK’S FINEST BBQ // 1267 W Temple St @ Edgeware
  • 8:20-8:30pm – Ride from PARK’S FINEST BBQ to ECHO PARK LAKE

Date & Time: Thursday, 8/24 – Meet at 6:00 p.m., roll out at 6:30 p.m., ride ends at 8:30 p.m.

What to Bring: Your bicycle, in good running order, a lock and night lights. All participants should be able to ride a bike safely with the ability to brake, change gears, and balance while stopping and starting. All participants under 18 must wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian. Children under age 8 should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device to participate in the ride.
