There’s a saying that good things should leave you wanting a little more. Bike Week Pasadena left us wishing every week could be filled with bicycle movies, rides with Mayor Bogaard, Ladies Night maintenance clinics, scenic sunset rides, pedal parties, and lots of prizes and fun. Thanks to all of the people who help make Bike Week Pasadena possible and thank you to everyone who joined us. For those who want to relive the fun or who missed it, you can read about the first half here or watch C.I.C.L.E.’s 5 minute Bike Week Pasadena video recap.
A special thanks to the City of Pasadena, REI, New Belgium Brewing, and Whole Foods Arroyo for your support!
The bike community-building collaboration of L.A.’s maintenance co-ops, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Collation, and C.I.C.L.E. is rolling forward into its second year. C.I.C.L.E. has partnered with several new community partners to organize over 40 free bicycle maintenance and safety clinics, foster community rides, and provide free bicycles through the Bike Wrangler. Read more about the program, find schedule information, and learn about each bike organization’s role here.
We Want You…
Actually, it’s a lot more laid back and fun than enlisting. C.I.C.L.E.’s looking for people who love building community, riding bikes, and being creative to help us plan our monthly Urban Expedition Rides. The task would require organizing fun, educational, and interesting stops and helping with the Ride Leader team each month. Urban Expeditions is a great way to get involved and see fast results for your time and effort. If you or someone you know feel called to be our next all-star CICLEista, contact us here.
Mark your calendars because on October 8th, New Belgium Brewing’s traveling celebration of all things bicycle returns to the L.A. Historic Park. Tour de Fat sings the praises of the bike life while raising funds for local non-profits, including C.I.C.L.E. It is more than an event; it’s a rite of passage that includes a costumed bicycle parade, New Belgium beer, eye-popping entertainment, local food, bizarre bike contests and much more.
Be part of this great day, meet new friends, and help C.I.C.L.E. raise funds by volunteering for a shift during the event. Contact us to help out.
