Imagine 50 people in wind-inflated-suites riding bicycles through cities around the world. The first ride was in NYC 06.05.04. Then, San Francisco, Cape Town, South Africa, and now L.A.
Created by artist Jessica Findley, Aeolian Ride is a free, public art event where fifty people wear wind-inflated suitsand ride their bikes through cities around the world. Aeolian Ride seeks to excite, delight and involve the rider as well as the passerby. The idea is to create a fun, public participatory art event that transforms the landscape of the city.
The Aeolian ride is going to be happening in Los Angeles, California, Saturday, September 10th 2005. This ride will take place at night and will be followed by an after party hosted by Bike Summer LA. Exact time and Location to be announced. Sign up to ride for free at www.aeolian-ride.info.
This trip to Los Angeles was prompted by an invitation by David Benoff , of Bike Summer LA, who is helping to organize the ride. The ride is open to traveling to any city, provided there is a local person who is willing to help organize. For more information on what that entails email info@aeolian-ride.info.
