Looking Back: Love Your Neighborhood Ride, Led by Bikesan@s del Valle
C.I.C.L.E. teamed up with Bikesan@s del Valle on January 24th to organize the “Love Your Neighborhood” ride, sponsored by Metro. Almost 100 bicyclists rode from the Lake View Terrace Library near Hansen Dam to several stops including Roger JessupPark Commuinty Garden, BLVD Bike Shop, Pacoima Beautiful and Pacoima City Hall, and the Cesar Chavez Memorial. At each stop, speakers, artists and community leaders, including Councilmember Felipe Fuentes, discussed local history, art and community plans.Numerous flats and strong head winds didn’t stop us from finishing an incredible ride. The group arrived at the final stop at Pacoima Wash Natural Park for powerful and energizing musical performances and a local art walk bursting with creativity.
Bikesan@s del Valle were great partners to collaborate with. A huge thanks to our committed volunteer Ride Leaders for keeping things running smoothly. To join our team, please sign up here or email firstname.lastname@example.org!
