Cloaked in bright lycra and plastered with the corporate logos and names of myriad sponsors, the riders of the Amgen Tour of California raced in circles around Redondo Beach for the final stage of this week long tour. While I’m not the ‘roadie type’, I was still quite thrilled to see the spectacle of the world class cycling circuit first hand and in my own backyard. Hundreds of thousands of screaming spectators came out to enjoy the race, which definitely added to the excitement.
